Artist Statement

My work explores the visceral realities of womanhood, drawing inspiration from the body, emotions, and self-identity. Rather than depicting the body, I create impressions that bend, swell, twist, and stretch. These forms exude a strong sense of presence, achieved through organic coil construction and vibrant surfaces. By layering tactile glazes and hand-built elements, I reflect the physical and psychological experience of inhabiting one’s own skin. I am interested in the shifting boundary between inner and outer worlds, particularly the tension between containment and exposure. Through these works, I invite reflection on how we conceal and reveal ourselves, self-healing, and how traces of the past remain present within us.
